About the event

The Living Archive Project is excited to offer a four-part songwriting workshop, led by musician Randy Miritello (Hop City Hellcats) beginning Sunday, March 26, and concluding on Sunday, April 16 at Bushel Collective in Delhi, NY. Meet-ups will take place on a weekly basis. Participants will explore common techniques and tools used in songwriting to tell stories about self, history, and/or place. Additionally, students will develop their performance skills and learn to take creative risks. Musical experience is not required to participate in this workshop—just a desire to learn. This program is geared toward adults and is appropriate for ages 16+.

There is no fee to attend this workshop, as we believe that our storytelling-through-the-arts program must be accessible to anyone interested in participating. If you would like to make a donation to the Living Archive Project's programming fund, we won't argue. Arrangements can be made following registration.

Randy Miritello is a guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter; founder of the band Hop City Hellcats and co-founding member of the Horseshoe Lounge Playboys. His career began in the late 80s in rural Tioga County, NY where he was raised in a rich community of old-time and country musicians. Inspiration led Randy to the road where he developed his own musical voice while playing old-time fiddle and guitar with friends who went on to form Old Crow Medicine Show. Since then, Randy has performed in front of audiences across the country opening for legendary acts such as Steve Earle, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and Levon Helm Band, among others. Randy’s most current projects focus on storytelling through his songwriting, going back to his acoustic roots, and performing solo shows. In 2022, he signed a songwriting development deal with SMS Nashville, which is ongoing.
